Alton Towers
Alton Towers is a very popular large theme park in Staffordshire which attracts nearly 3 million visitors a year. The fun park and resort is located in the beautiful grounds of a semi-ruined country house and is split into quirkily themed areas. Alton Towers is home to a great selection of innovative rides (some of which are world famous) and offers a fantastic day out for all ages.
The thrill seekers would enjoy rides such as Nemesis (Europe’s first inverted roller coaster), Thirteen (the world’s first vertical free fall drop roller coaster) and Air (the world’s first flying roller coaster). Smaller children and the less adventurous would enjoy rides including Skyride, Congo river rapids and the Haunted House. The Alton Tower Waterpark ‘Caribbean Lagoon’ is also extremely popular and comes complete with fun slides, interactive water features, a wave machine and a lazy river ride.

The surrounding countryside is beautiful and many combine a trip to Alton Towers with exploring the nearby Peak District National Park.
